Finger Trap

The finger trap is a classic practical joke for unsuspecting children and adults. Usually unleashed on the victim's index fingers (or whichever digits fit). A simple puzzle whereby the natural reaction of the trapped is to pull their fingers outward, which actually tightens the trap. Freedom is achieved by pushing towards the middle of the trap, which enlarges the openings so fingers can escape.
Also known as a Chinese finger trap or Chinese finger puzzle.
